Roskilde Festival 2003 - SoWhat! Camp
Since I was leaving for RF earlier than the rest of the people I was gonna camp with (the SoWhat bunch) I was gonna try keep places for them. This of course resulted in me staying awake an entire night to make sure noone stole the spots. I put the camp next to FistCamp so that I could get some help watching out from them.
Most of the SW Camp arrived on Monday morning after a long nights drive. I was totally whiped out and went to sleep as soon as they started putting up their tents. They were quite tired themselves and putting up tents isn't really the first thing you wanna do when you finally get there. But they got everything up at last.
On Wednesday, after our shopping trip to Roskilde City, we had some good times in the camp trying out all our new and exciting toys. Faces were being decorated with stars and flowers and facial paint. And of course balloon animals were being made.
Everyone had their share of "creative workshop".
And after a few beers the mood was really good for most of us. We had our beer pool with cold beers and lots of fun to look forward to.
A lot of people came by to visit the camps. Some for FistCamp and some for SoWhat Camp. So it was always busy with new faces. And if I remember one name at all I will be proud. So you gotta help me fill in the blanks here..
Though we spent alot of time in camp, people also went shopping, going to the movies, going backstage for some peace and quiet or just went visiting friends in other camps.
And of course we had our share of beers and wine. I didn't feel very well most of the time, so not so much alcohol for me really.
On Wednesday we also started planning the concerts ahead. So many concerts, and so little time. It took some time reading through the band descriptions and try to figure out what would be a great live experience and what to choose when things collided.
As soon as the concerts start people will spend less time in the camp, so having a few nights of partying before the "real thing" gets going is good. I had my mind set on the chatmeeting on Thursday, and then some concerts.
Each year I think I am prepared for this and that I will manage to go to all those concerts I cross out, but I am always wrong of course. He he
