| After the chatmeeting we all
entered the gates of the festivalarea and
into the arms of the pinkclad cosmic huggers.
Lots of girls and boys in pink robes with
flowers around their necks giving away hugs
to everyone that needed one. What a lovely
start to a festival!! |
|
 |
| Some people, like PJ and Benny
just couldn't let go and actually stayed around
for hugs for almost an hour. PJ reports that
some of the cosmic huggergirls started to
grow a bit tired of him. Not this one it seems
though! |
|
 |
| Just a little picture of the
Camping East area sometime in the middle of
the festival. I have just come out from the
Green stage and are heading towards FistCamp.
Nice toiletpaper.... |
|
 |
| We spent a lot of time just
sitting in FistCamp drinking and letting the
day pass by. A lot of interesting people passed
by as well, like these black angels. Neet!!! |
|
 |
|
Benny and Magnus were helping some Danish
girls put up their partytent (with a minimum
of success) when some Swedes from Skåne
throws them a roll of tape. Later on we
sat down with these people from Perstorp
only to find out that they actually know
Angel...our Angel!
|
|
 |
| When we found out I sent an
sms to Püffi, got Angels number and called
her so that we could all talk to her. She
was pretty surprised to hear that we were
sitting together with the bunch from Perstorp. |
|
 |
| When Angel came to the festival
later, we walked over to the Perstorp camp
and stayed there and partied all of us together. |
|
 |
| The youngest member of the
Perstorp camp was Jenny. She was only 16!
That's pretty young, but it seemed to go just
fine. |
|
 |
| This is another member of Perstorp
camp - Micke. And I must say that this picture
is one of the best pictures I have ever seen
taken at Roskilde. The photographer is Benny!
*so proud of you* |
|
 |
| Another camp close to FistCamp
was that of Joey Boy and his friends. We spent
some time there as well. It was good to have
three different camps to go to at the festival.
If things were a bit slow one place, we could
just move on to the next. |
|
 |
| Angel also joined us in this
camp-to-camp partying and ended up too damn
drunk to find her way home to her own camp
at West. So to be sure she slept safe, we
just tucked her into Magnus' tent. This happened
two nights in a row actually. No problemo! |
|
 |
| And here's a very tired and
cold member of FistCamp. Yep, it's me sitting
in Joey's camp clinging to tepid beer almost
falling asleep. Maybe I'm getting too old
for this??? Nahhh... |
|
 |
| Partytime in Joey's camp for
sure. They all look a bit tired if you ask
me. This is before the festival itself started.
So we didn't have any concerts to go to. |
|
 |
| More tired people in Joey's
camp. These pics sure makes Roskilde seem
like a fun place to spend your summerdays
he he. |
|
 |
| And here's Joey with Stig.
Joey looks ready to hit the sack too. |
|
 |
| Another night, another party. |
|
 |
| Dorte and Nalini stayed in
Püffi's van at the handicap camping.
I was up there a couple of times saying hi
to Dorte, Püffi and Nalini of course.
It's nice and quiet up there compared to the
East and West camping, so they could sleep
all night without waking. |
|
 |
| Nalini didn't seem to bother
much about being at the festival, but then
of course she was only around 3 months...so
I guess she was happy as long as there was
food and sleep for her. |
|
 |
|
 |
| The Oval, which is actually
where the backstage area was back in 1996
are a quite new feature to the festival. With
fancy restaurants with real glasses and cutlery
you can enjoy a luxury meal or a strawberry
daquiry maybe! I settled for the last one
together with one of Benny's former colleagues
Therese. |
|
 |
| One of the other things you
could find in the Oval was the Cathedral of
Silence. A canvas cathedral designed by famous
Danish architect Henning Larsen stands tall
in the middle of the Oval. There you could
rest your mind and ears, and even get your
feet washed. |
|
 |
| We did not stay the last night
because of the threats from the crazy German
neighbours we had. They were a bit pissed
with us the last day and said: "You fuckers,
we're gonna burn your tents tonight".
Well we decided for not staying to see if
they were serious, but all went into Copenhagen
and stayed at a nice hotel (the same I stayed
at in 1997). |
